22. Could not get into Overdrive or Netlibrary. Searched Project Gutenberg for an audio book and there wasn't a lot of "nowadays" titles to choose from. I finally went into Bookshelf and then to Crime Bookshelf and found Edgar Allan Poe's "Mystery of Marie Roget" and this would be a good one for me to download. I was surprised that this is a free site and that you could donate and help by using PayPal. Actually made me want to give a few dollars to help them with the great service they offer!
20. I really did not want to get into UTube because I knew I would get hooked and I really don't want to be a computer junkie. This site is fun! I chose this particular one because it shows my Ravens and the Eagles (who are my second team) in the same video. And I am a sports junkie.
I think libraries could use the various categories patrons might browse such as Communities to put a short video on about a previous or upcoming program

19. I used the Lulu site for books and the Arcaplya site for Games. The Arcaplay was a lot of fun. I was playing Bug on a Wire and having a ball. The Lulu site was just amazing. You can go on there and publish your own work. There is even a book cost calculator to tell you how much it would cost. You can search for book titles that maybe even a library wouldn't have. It's sort of like Amazon where you can purchase a title. On here they give you the price for purchase or download. If you search Literature and Fiction the keywords are very succinct. You can use keywords such as Thriller, Mystery, Suspense, Crime---there really narrow it down. The site also has searches for Music, Calendars and Videos. I really had fun looking and playing with this one.
18. I explored the calendar feature on Google Docs and created a calendar for this seasons Ravens games. This could be a real cool feature that I can see I could use. I talked to my son and he is using it in his business--didn't even know that. I even did this on my own which was very gratifying!!

16. I loved the Wiki's!!! I can see a lot of uses for me personally. My cousin in Indiana keeps our family tree. Wouldn't it be cool to put it in a Wiki and we can all access it and put in our additions or deletions. I am planning on talking to him about it. I went on the Book Lovers Wiki and that was my favorite. That is a great idea for a library to have where everyone can add titles and comments. It would be helpful to patrons looking for a new author to read . The ALA New Orleans is a great way to "take notes" from a meeting. It's a big job for one participant at a conference to report on what was learned and this way everyone who went to the conference could put, as they say it, their own two-cents worth. That is a great tool for library personnel and for any other company in the business world to use. So a WIKI can be just about anything that someone would like to share with others. It can be personal, business or just plain information someone thinks is interesting. A neat little tool!
15. They talk about feedback and participation and I think the libraries of today have that. It's just a difference in whether it's face to face or through a blog comment . This is a bit limited however, in the amount of information that is made available. Wikipedia scares me, because I don't know if people out there know that it is not guaranteed information. I guess, those that are computer literate will know how wikipedia works but I think kids could get the wrong idea about it. There are also a lot of people out there that are not computer people and they would much rather talk to someone about their complaints. The future of libraries is definitely changing because of the "world-wide web", but I hope it goes slowly. It's all so much technology and it gets overwhelming. I must admit , thought, that there is a lot of information out there in the world and by having the ability to give people the access to it in many different formats is amazing. It will definitely change the library's future in the information gathering end of it, but you will still need the personal touch that is provided by the staff.
14. Technorati. This was a fascinating site! You can go in by looking in the blog itself which gives you the entire blog or go to the blog posts to see different opinions and comments. When I went into Barbra Streisand as my search word I found all kinds of stuff. There was a site that was in Italian and one in Dutch and a site with Flickr where you can view photos. I was really surprised to see the sites in foreign languages and to see just how much info I could get on Barbra. I may use Technorati in future more than some of the other exercises I've tried.
13. I read into a lot of the sites on PLCMCL2 and it was very interesting. I liked the site of the Orange County Library. They had a little bit of everything on there with podcasts and tags to get different information. It was all fascinating, but I don;t think it's something that I would get use out of. Nice to know that it is there for the using, though.
